How Long Can I Return At Radio Shack

Overclocking the E4300, aka the "Monster"

All generations of processors have a model that is making its special balance between features and price in a reference model for those seek unparalleled performance but at a reduced price for it. The Core 2 Duo already has this model, called E4300, and we sell it as a micro-cut, with less speed, less FSB and less cache than some models and without any virtualization technology. It is still a dual core and its special bus may be slower than their older siblings but this weakness may become the very thing that makes this processor out above the rest.

Why is so special about the E4300?

The E4300 is a processor, which according to pass these days of release, would stagnate for a while in the 140-150 euro price including taxes. Operates at a clock frequency of 1.8GHz dual-core, incorporates all the features of the older Core 2 duo but is limited to 2MB, like all Allendale cores, and eliminates the Vanderpool virtualization technology for hardware. It is, therefore, a good dual core processor at a reasonable price, but of course your work is often away from the performance of Conroe E6600 or E6700 with almost more internal frequency 1GHz.

The advantage for an overclocker the E4300, a part of the price, is working with a 200MHz bus and actual internal frequency multiplier of 9x. Its frequency 1800Mhz occur with the same multiplier with a 2.4GHz E6600 gets her the only real difference in the front-side bus speed used. With this rule of thumb we can say that with half the price we can access the same working frequencies that could be used with a E6600 and thus achieve the same levels of overclocking and also very similar performance as the E6600 has 4MB cache in certain applications can do better in a slight degree and performance provided when talking about the same frequencies.

processors a range, for example, all AMD64 X2 or all of the Core 2 Duo, emerging from the same wafer, source of manufacture are all equal, since the Core 2 Quad, to the E4300, are all the same microprocessor and as a test market demand for quality or just a fall way or another. This makes the potential frequency and performance is very similar between them but merely made some configuration so that it becomes impossible to reach the levels of frequencies that can reach other top models. Normally, the main limitation is the multiplier itself, which hangs at the factory intel is indesbloqueable down and also saved except Extreme edition versions, so processors like the E6300 (7x) or the E6400 (8x) have less potential terms of gross working frequency is concerned. Always be easier to achieve more frequent with less buses and we force unless the entire system and other components such as motherboard and memory.

The E4300 and the chipstet 975X.

The advantage of high leverage is that we need less bus to reach very high frequencies. To reach 3.6GHz with E6300 need a working frequency of 515MHz front side bus, which can only be achieved with some motherboards such as Intel's 965, with great effort and much knowledge of what we do. But although these plates can be compared with those fitted to the 975X, are slower in both the memory bus as its integrated IDE controller and in its overall performance. Up over bus and are ideal for these micros flights but the E4300, I believe has left them obsolete. A shift from the hard 975X 400MHz bus, although you can get, but not necessary, we can use cheaper memory, or force unless they have, to achieve the same or much higher bandwidth and will have a stronger board.

We have the example before that an E6300 with a 7x multiplier encestaría a special bus to reach 515MHz 3.6GHz internal frequency. Now do the same course for a E4300. To achieve the 3.6Ghz would need "only" 400MHz front side bus, 25% less bus frequency which greatly facilitates our things and allows us to buy DDR2 800 conventional and pay less to get same or better results.

For these reasons I, the 975X is ideal for micro and now E6600 to E4300 , this chipset will get more balanced performance and we can bring the processor to the limit that we check. Take the opportunity to give a quick guide on how to do overclocking to a processor of this type.

If we assume that the E4300 are the ugly ducklings of the wafers then we have the handicap endured worse on tests and high frequencies are therefore relegated to a role of low cost to take forward many processors as possible. This can translate that difficult to raise the E4300 as a E6600 but they certainly come too and if we are lucky we can even overcome because each micro is a world we can know nothing of its outcome with certainty.

How to upload a E4300. The details.

We have a clear objective and know our limitations. Now we know the four things that will increase the frequency of our processor. It's time to know some details and techniques that enable us to reach our maximum stable set of components. There are few things that you need to know, basically increasing the front-side bus motherboard without disrupting our other buses such as expansion cards or our components On board. For this is important that our board has blocks for PCI Express and PCI standard. The first should be at 100MHz and the second at 33MHz . It is important not to move in there as well limit the effects of overclocking the processor and memory.

Memories are another important item process. If we have a 965 board must work at least as long, so sync with the FSB. This means that if we, in an unlikely event, 500MHz FSB our memories must hold that frequency, the 975X, however, we can use a frequency divider for the memory that we facilitate the process if our modules are not high speeds. Anyway for the current price differences, I recommend you buy DDR2 800 since it will give us more game.

already know the most important thing now is to go up buses and operating details of our board. Here I can not generalize and give you specific details of the P5W DH I've used for this process. With this motherboard, to the maximum voltage is 1.85v chipset, we can achieve up to 450MHz front side bus, to reach the front side bus frequency must take into account other details such as off Hyperpath 3.0 the plate and let herself awarded the response times of reports. When these conditions can have a limit of about 450MHz FSB which is enough for this processor.

These processors work in series 1.325vy increase to 1.6-1.7v warms even more and therefore restricts their ability to post more often . For much voltage we would put him up would accomplish more by what I recommend to not force too much and a voltage of 1.6v useis maximum of cooling air. That said you must make your goals for this processor hovering around 340-360MHz that is, on the other hand, the FSB frequency that is often also come with the retail E6600. This bus speed processor will have a frequency of about 3200MHz. This makes overclocking 80% is an incredible amount for air cooling.

pMCore SuperPI Mod.

As you can see the overclocking works but will continue as we have shown increased twice the performance of our processor making him into a group of processors well above any commercial processor. Just find faster processors in quad-core formats would do that type of evidence very supportive of SMP, to see this micro defeated. Let us see how things change in programs such as SuperPI

Opinion

P ersonal I had a good experience with the E4300 I touch a mic with a low wall Fsb (365) and I am not moving from 3.825Ghz, which is a 82.5% overclock, but really expected more of it.

also some who have left comments on the blog about this wonder:

If realmante agree that this microphone is the right balance between clock and Chacha ... besides that is a very good overclocker.
The only bad thing that we could find is that FSB Wall has a relatively low, since most do not make more than 400 or 410 FSB with wind.
But to be a micro $ 150, not anything bad.

Greetings and congratulations on this space that you've built.

the truth that today is one of the best micro in price / performance / overclock, but we should first see the history of historical also celeron 300A, I do not remember that, but say it was also a furor in his time

Well nothing else I hope has been useful, HispaZone source, edited by Patagonian.
