My Benchmarcks C2D E4300 AMD Athlon AMD Duron

is a range of low cost microprocessors compatible with the Athlon, so x86 architecture . Were designed to compete with the Celeron line of processors from Intel.

The main difference between the Athlon and Duron Duron is that they only have 64 Kbytes of second level cache (L2), compared to 256 KBytes of the Athlon.

Core Applebred

The core "Applebred" is the second core of Duron. This core is based on the Thoroughbred core of the Athlon XP. It was released in 2003 and worked at a clock frequency between 1.4 and 1.8 GHz, with a bus of 133 MHz (266 MHz DDR effective by technology).

Athlon Classic, was the first x86 processor seventh generation and initially maintained its leading performance on Intel microprocessors. AMD Athlon continued using the name for its eighth-generation Athlon processors 64.

Core Classic Athlon processor launched the market on August 21, 1999. The first core Athlon, code-known as "K7" (in homage to his predecessor, K6), was initially available in versions from 500 to 650 MHz, but later reached speeds of up to 1 GHz processor is compatible with x86 architecture and must be plugged into Slot A motherboards that are compatible mechanically but not electrically, with Intel's Slot 1. Internally, the Athlon

is a redesign of its predecessor, which was substantially improved floating-point system (now 3 floating point units can work simultaneously) and was increased first-level cache (L1) 128 KB (64 KB for data and 64 KB for instructions). It also includes 512 KB of second level cache (L2) outside the integrated circuit processor and running, usually at half the speed of it (In the models most often the cache running at 2 / 5 [In the 750 , 800 and 850 MHz] or 1 / 3 [In the 900, 950 and 1,000 MHz] frequency of the processor). The communication bus is compatible with the EV6 protocol used in the 21264 DEC Alpha processor, running at a frequency of 100 MHz DDR (Dual Data Rate , 200 MHz effective).

Interior de un Athlon Classic.

Interior
an Athlon Classic. The

result was the most powerful x86 processor time. The Athlon Classic was sold until January 2002.

In economic terms Athlon Classic was a success not only for its own merits and its low price compared with competitors, but also by production problems at Intel.

Core Thunderbird

Athlon processor core Thunderbird appeared on the market on June 5, 2000, as the evolution of Athlon Classic. Like its predecessor, is also based on the x86 architecture and uses the bus EV6. The clock speed range is from 650 MHz to 1.4 GHz Athlon Regarding the Classic, the Athlon Thunderbird Slot A change of the Socket A, smaller.

All Athlon Thunderbird up to 128 KB of cache first level (L1) (64 KB data and 64 KB for instructions) and 256 KB second-level cache (L2) on-die, of course running at the same frequency the nucleus. The manufacturing process used for these chips is 0.18μ (First made of aluminum interconnects and then in the 1 GHz or more, copper) and the package size is 117 mm 2 .

There are two versions of Thunderbird depending on the frequency of bus use. The first Athlon Thunderbird used a bus of 100MHz DDR (200 MHz effective), as well as the Athlon Classic . In the first quarter of 2001 new releases, called Athlon-C , supporting a bus of 133 MHz DDR (266 MHz effective).

The Athlon AMD Thunderbird consolidated as the second largest chip manufacturing company, and thanks to its excellent performance (always exceeding the Pentium III and Pentium IV Intel's first to the same clock speed) and low price , made it very popular among connoisseurs as insiders in the computer.

Athlon XP

When Intel released the Pentium IV 1.7 GHz in April 2001 was that the Athlon Thunderbird was not at his level. In addition it was impractical to raise the head remain in performance of x86 processors, AMD had to design a new kernel. so I get the athlon xp

Palomino core

Athlon XP "Palomino"
Athlon XP "Palomino" AMD

launched the third major revision of the Athlon, known key as "Palomino", 15 May 2001. All from the core Athlon Palomino were known generically as Athlon XP. This processor was the desktop version of Athlon 4 processor, developed for laptops.

The main changes compared to previous core performance improvements were making it 10% faster than an Athlon Thunderbird the same clock speed. Its clock speed was between 1.3 and 1.7 GHz Palomino core was also the first to include the SSE instruction set of Intel, in addition to the 3DNow! AMD's own. The Palomino core still had problems with heat dissipation, which made it too hot. The improvements to the Palomino on the Thunderbird prerrecuperación we mention the hardware data, known in English as a prefetch, and the TLB entries increases from 24 to 32.

Due to performance improvements at the same clock speed compared to previous cores, the Athlon XP were sold not by clock speed, but with a rate "services relating" known as PR . This index indicates the equivalent clock speed of a core Athlon thunderbird with the same performance as an Athlon XP . For example, Athlon XP 1800 + actually runs to 1.53 GHz, but indicates that it has a performance equivalent to a hypothetical to 1.8 GHz Thunderbird

Thoroughbred core

The core of the fourth generation of the Athlon, the Thoroughbred , commonly referred to as "Thoroughbred" A "was released on June 10, 2002 at an initial speed of 1.43 GHz (1700 with the benefit system on.) Went on to achieve a 2800 + performance relative.

The core "Thoroughbred" was manufactured with a process of 0.13 microns, 0.18 microns to improve the manufacturing process "Palomino" core. Initially, apart improvement of the manufacturing process, the Palomino and Thoroughbred cores are virtually identical. Later

AMD created a review Thoroughbred core called "Thoroughbred-B" which solved the problems of heat dissipation from the core legacy Thunderbird.

Barton Core

The fifth-generation Athlon core, called Barton , operated at a rate PR from 2400 + - approximately 1837 MHz - and 3200 + - 2200 MHz -.

The Barton core was main characteristics regarding Thoroughbred to include a new second-level cache (L2) 512 KB and continue to improve processor performance without increasing clock speed. In addition AMD increased bus frequency of 133 MHz (266 effective for DDR) to 166 MHz (333 MHz effective) and then up to 200 MHz (400 MHz effective).

With the launch of the Athlon XP Barton core AMD again noted that its x86 processors were the fastest on the market, but some performance tests did not indicate this market. This caused a stir when it emerged that some of these tests as performance tests BAPCo were designed by engineers at Intel.

Thorton core

The core "Thorton" is a variant of "Barton", identical to this but with half of the second level cache (L2) off.

Mobile Athlon XP

The Mobile Athlon XP (Athlon XP-M ) are functionally identical to the Athlon XP, but work with lower voltages. They also have technology PowerNow! , which reduces the operating speed of the processor when workload is low, to reduce further consumption.

The Athlon XP-M use the standard Socket A. Generally used in laptops.
The successor to the Athlon and Athlon XP (seventh generation) is the Athlon 64 .

My

Hi here are some, settings, capture and validation of the frequencies that come with this E4300, I have to say be quite disappointed with this processor , not the E4300 model, if not mine because I played a wall with very low fsb of 363 and not even allowed me to pass 3.3GHz.

Buffalo Drive Remove Cd Partition

Colliding with my E4300 FSB Wall

Well a few days ago left me until my E4300 Q6600 and clear the terrible reputation of this micro I could not help prove it.
Start with these settings:
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=256639 I found I rarely needed much voltage, but well within those vcore not start, so I had no other . Try
skip to 3.4Ghz (3.2Ghz as they had gone relatively easy), testing with this configuration:

E4300 @ 378 x 9

1.54375 vcore change Senti Strap and nothing, restarted ... so here provided with 1,575 vcore and 1.6 and nothing, fault and fault .., I decided to put a 3.3GHz then provide this configuration:

E4300 @ 367 x 9

1.54375 vcore again the same, change and Strap it .. restarted .. increase the vcore to 1.5625, 1.575, 1.58125 and 1.6 fault again, but at least failure and knew it was not for lack of voltage .
The truth is I was a bit disoriented as the temperatures were very low, between 22 º C and 26 º C, and in my past experiences with the E6600, that I had passed.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
In this screenshot you can see from the charts of fan speed v4.33 temperatures in idle to 3.25Ghz are between 24 º C and 27 º C, so here it was clear that temperatures were not the problem .

And if it was not the temperature or voltage, could only be one thing; I had first met with this E4300 FSB Wall.

But that is the FSB Wall?

is a virtual wall of which is impossible to climb, regardless of voltage, multiplier or cooling.

Since I knew I was between 356, fsb without problems last 3.2Ghz and 367, last fsb with bad results.
In these cases there is no choice but to go up testing configurations one at the FSB, until at last I found it! Wall the FSB of my E4300 was at 363.
With the fsb at 363 and any voltage up to a maximum of 1.65v no way to be successful.
The latest frequencies without problems was 361 and 362, specifically the following settings:
I started looking online and found many people actually this problem on this processor , in chilehardware is an example and 3D News another, it seems that normally reach speeds of between 3.0Ghz and 3.5Gz (so it could be worse) and are also clear which seem to have FSB Wall and reach 3.9 or 4Ghz Hersounds like to 3966Mhz with 121% of OC, or BNDMOD to 3914Mhz with a 118% OC (Maximo moderators pc).

Well here ends my short love affair with the E4300, (thank goodness I left it until I got the Q6600 because it's really a low FSB Wall), so I leave here the capture and validation of Maximo you could get this E4300.

Why Does My Deodorant Burn

Refrigeration Gas (Vapor Phase Cooling System )

Gas or Vapor Phase Cooling System

Vapochill is a new gas cooling system that allows us to express the performance of our computer microprocessor 25 to 30%.

is basically a small compressor, like a refrigerator, and the microprocessor directly cooled to -30 ° when in standby and about -15 ° at full load.

The operation is very simple. The compressed gas down a tube closed circuit to the CPU, there in an aluminum changes state, causing the decrease in temperature a physical principle. The CPU, which is in contact with this compound, cooled, and the gas becomes hot and a return pipe to a radiator, where the gas is cooled again. After this, go back to the compressor and the cycle begins again.

By having a cooling system so powerful, can do " Overclocking " which involves forcing the cpu speed. In our machine, which was in the Simo 2002, it was a Pentium4 at 2,800 MHz, and forced him from the BIOS up to 3400 Mhz, being perfectly stable.

Vapochill kit consists of:
- Cooling Kit. Compressor-condenser-evaporator, and all necessary tubing.
- CPU KIT, adaptable for both AMD XP and Pentium 4.
- Chillcontrol, electronic unit that controls:

1. pressure compressor.
2. The speed radiator fan . (Decrease speed by 10% reduces noise by 50%).
3. Steady state temperature . We decide that we want it operating temperature to stabilize.
4. temperature. We can define both the temperature which ripped the team, as the computer shuts down automatically in case of malfunction.
5. Temperatures resistance: The cooling system has 2 small resistors, one in the front and one in the back of the socket, to prevent condensation, and whose operating temperature is adjustable

Benefits :

- performance. Similar to a dual plate, but with the advantage that it allows all types of software, whereas we use a single dual performance for some specific applications.
- noise. By eliminating the fan-heatsink micro, usually The loudest of the entire computer, the noise decreases considerably.
- Compared with the cooling liquid cools much more , (30 º to -30 º), allowing a higher overclocking, and above all more stable.
And with the advantage that a small leak in the Vapochill, causes the gas to evaporate on contact with air, while the cooling liquid can lose the whole team!

Disadvantages:

"Some say that the gas consumption is very high almost as 3 fridges.
-Price elevevado today (except Vapochill Micro kit worth about 30 euros)
-hazardous condensation, if not correctly assemble the system.

New Personal Record e6600@4.0Ghz

Yeah, yeah, yeah I finally got my E6600 to 4.0GHz both I resisted!

was locked and end with the problem of voltage, because to take it to 3.9Ghz and stabilize more or less had to be at 1.7v so much and would not move from there, but the other day talking to hersounds, I did see that if temperature down much, would need less voltage , so I set to work and put CPU almost in front of air conditioning and started to overclock.

Here are a few pictures and link validation.
